The coverage of the soccer team in a cave in Thailand gripped the American people, and the media kept us all up to date as did social media.
Meanwhile a less uplifting story was continuing on our southern border as children as young as one year were making the required court appearance without any legal representation while the government was represented by attorneys, and parents were not only charged for court costs and plane tickets to be reunited with their children, but it was found that many of the kids would have a very hard time being re-united with their parents as there was no real way to match parents with their children, especially since some parents had already been deported without them.
It’s great that the 12 kids all got out, but we need to keep our attention on the thousands of kids trapped in another form of cave.
