Have people gone too far?

Republican lawmaker Michele Fiore of Nevada told her radio show audience:

“I mean, I am not OK with Syrian refugees. I’m not OK with terrorists. You know, I’m OK with putting them down, blacking them out, just put a piece of brass in their ocular cavity and end their miserable life.”

She specified neither gender, nor age.

She did not specify “radical Islamic” refugees.

She said, “I am not OK with Syrian refugees.”

She clearly stated that she would personally execute refugees, among them are children who, with their parents, are fleeing almost unthinkable violence in their own communities.

When did this sort of speech become so acceptable in this country that a politician would have no problem with such a statement or fear of being rejected for saying it?

We are better than this.
