Because keeping Christ in Christmas is all about snowmen, snow flakes, penguins, cute little bears, Tinsel, trees, and ornaments.
Oh, and saying “merry Christmas” because people don’t realize that holidays means holy days.
But maybe putting Christ back in Christmas means something beyond commercialism and decorations, and just might mean feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, sheltering the homeless, seeing the humanity in the lowly, welcoming the stranger and the lonely child, caring for the sick, and loving those with whom you do not agree.
But that takes work, and isn’t flashy.
Maybe people will get around to those things when this whole cup controversy is resolved.
Unless, of course, something as pressing comes up first.
In the meantime, “Merry Cupmas!”
