He has stated that “trickle-down economics” hasn’t worked, that income inequality is bad for the majority of humanity, and that present day capitalism is not only corrupt, but toxic .

This opinion, which has never been confirmed by the facts, expresses a crude and naïve trust in the goodness of those wielding economic power and in the sacralized workings of the prevailing economic system.”
This hasn’t been sitting too well with Donald Trump who suspects the pope might speak about these things when he visits the United States in a few weeks, and so he has warned:
