George W Bush had remained pretty quiet since leaving office, and that has been a point of admiration for a lot of people.
But, unfortunately, he spoke up recently to criticize President Obama’s policies in the Middle East.
Initially it was seen as his coming out of the shadows and being strong. But, if it is really looked at, the things he is supposed to have said only serve the purpose of having people look back on what got us to this point and had the president follow the policies he has had to design.
Where we are reminded continually to stop blaming Bush for what he did and the president has had to remedy to a greater or lesser degree of success, Dubya has invited us to review his record and make comparisons.
He gave a reason to look back, and his party cannot blame anyone from doing so.
On a second review, what mistakes he made will be noticed by those who have not seen them before, and will remind those who had seen them before of what they were.
He did not do himself any favors.
