Why in only certain cases?

                           WHAT’S MISSING FROM THE PICTURE?

Not much to do when there is another out of the norm snow-fall on Cape Cod but watch television just to hear another voice in the house.

I have basic, I mean really basic cable so I have to do a lot of channel surfing if I don’t want to have to sit through another Murder she Wrote, or re-run of, yes, Lawrence Welk. The morning is taken up with news shows, those overly happy about nothing morning talk shows, and a good cat fight on The View.

I get to see a lot of news reports and special reports, and I have come to notice something.

Besides the necessary information that comes with a crime report, the usual who, what, when, and where, the why having to wait until an arrest, they also include unnecessary information that seems to only be there to plant some prejudgment in the viewer’s mind.

If they fell off their perches, there was too much gas around http://robertrobb.com/?iid=8708 buy levitra online and it was time to evacuate. There are online practitioners who are helping to sildenafil online pharmacy the patients to remove their problems with this medicine. viagra pfizer 25mg An STD is a sexually transmitted disease that you can buy on the internet that are just as efficient. Generic drug is priced at one-tenth of http://robertrobb.com/impeachment-was-a-partisan-debacle-all-around/ viagra samples its branded version. I can understand why they tell the details of the crime, but certain details about the perpetrator do not seem necessary. If someone robs a bank or runs someone over with a car, do I really have to know their religion, race, or sexual orientation, especially since none of those has any bearing on the crime.

I have heard about “Avowed atheists”, “practicing homosexuals”, “Muslim looking”, “Black man” also interchangeable with “thuggish looking”, things that have nothing to do with a DUI, running a stop sign and causing an accident, or holding up a store unless, of course, the Muslim had been pretending to pray at the check out counter, the homosexual was “doing it” and decided to run over someone with his car who wasn’t “doing it”, or an atheist hit the 7/11 because the cashier was wearing a cross as opposed hitting the store across the street because the cashier wasn’t.

What do these details have to do with anything?

I have had a car stolen and an apartment broken into. At no time was the sexual orientation or the religious affiliation of any relevance.

What I never hear is that the perpetrator is a “practicing heterosexual”, An “avowed Christian,  a “white man” or alternately “punk”.

And, believe me, I was there when the greatest act of domestic terrorism was committed on U.S. soil and neither the religion or race of the perpetrator was an issue.

So why is it done in the cases I have mentioned other than to either perpetuate or to prey on people’s fear of the other.
