The Palestinian and the Native American

At the end of the French and Indian War, a name which conveniently leaves out the British, the leaders of two countries on another continent, France and England, divided up the Eastern part of the American continent for their own benefit without including the Native Americans in any discussions as if they just weren’t here.

And now, 251 years later in 2014, two entities, a Canadian oil company and politicians in Washington, have decided for their own benefit that the Keystone XL Pipeline will go through the land belonging to the Lakota Sioux, making this decision with no input from the tribe whose sovereignty they choose to ignore.

History repeats itself.
