There are those who like to say the troops are deployed to fight for our freedoms.
Let’s be honest.
While our government is refusing to do anything to help develop alternative and renewable forms of energy, we are about to send troops to fight to protect Saudi Arabia and its oil.
Once again out troops will die for the benefit of oil companies.
“The Saudi oil supply was attacked. There is reason to believe that we know the culprit, are locked and loaded depending on verification, but are waiting to hear from the Kingdom as to who they believe was the cause of this attack, and under what terms we would proceed!” Trump said.
We need to stop fooling ourselves. We need to stop assuaging our guilt for so easily sending kids to die by claiming they are fighting for our freedom when they are fighting for corporations.
If you remember, we fought in Vietnam to protect “our freedoms”, but after we lost, our freedoms were still intact, and for minorities actually grew.
Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said Friday,
“The president has approved the deployment of U.S. forces, which will be defensive in nature and primarily focused on air and missile defense.”
We will be told this is to protect out freedoms, and people will believe it while people die.
