He’s doing this for us

Trump did not have a good time in France over the Veterans Day weekend.

It wasn’t about him. It was about all those losers who had died fighting a war. He likes those in war zones who don’t get captured or killed. Those service members can’t salute him.

He also had to share the spotlight equally with the others representing the countries who fought in World War I.

Rather than walk with all the participants to the Arc de Triomphe for the big ceremony, Trump took a car and met them there.

At times he was seen standing or sitting alone like a kid who nobody wanted to play with or the kid who just  did not want be there in the first place, but had to be.

“Mo-om. Okay, I will go because I have to, not because I want to.”

The only time he could claim he was the center of attention was during French President Macron’s speech when he, and the world, assumed the remarks comparing nationalism to patriotism were directed at him.

But he will get his revenge.

He will make Europe pay while he benefits.

After his return home Trump tweeted,

“France makes it very hard for the U.S. to sell its wines into France, and charges big Tariffs, whereas the U.S. makes it easy for French wines, and charges very small Tariffs,”

So, while he admits that the French make “excellent wine,” Trump complains about the imbalance between tariffs on American wines in France and American tariffs on French wines.

In reality, the European Union adds between 11 and 29 cents to each bottle of American wine, while we add between 5 and 14 cents to European imported wine.

His theory now is that more expensive French wine would have Americans turning to domestic wine.

That would certainly be good for Trump Wineries.

And it would not be the first time his winery has benefited from his action.

While he talked about creating jobs, foreign workers taking Americans’ jobs, and the threat of those raping and pillaging Mexicans, as he was entering office, his son, Eric, asked for a visa exception to bring six workers from Mexico to tend the Trump Vineyard Estates near Charlottesville, Virginia.

The Departments of Labor, State and Homeland Security would have had to approved these visas for guest workers, and, coincidentally, Trump, as president, was the one who would appoint the heads of those departments which would decide whether to approve the request.

It worked for Mar a Lago where, 10 months into his first year, Trump got visas to bring in foreign workers for the winter season, a 9%  increase from the year before he was president.

He had to do this because, obviously, there were no citizens who could do the jobs of cooks, waiters, and housekeepers.

Obviously, the man who promotes nationalism ans America first is taking an action to raise the price f French wine for our benefit, and definitely not his.
