June is for pride

When this holiday weekend ends, being as it is the kick-off of the summer season, the first true day of the summer it introduces would be this Tuesday, June First which is also the official first day of Pride Month which had begun with Gay Pride, then Gay and Lesbian Pride, then GLBT Pride, morphing slightly to LGBT, with later additions of QIA2NBGQ and so many more, is now just Pride.

But, whatever you call it, read books about all of us under the Rainbow Umbrella by us and for us, fiction and non-fiction, history, biography, something about one of us we need to learn a little more about.

We all need to know more about ourselves.

scammers

It is that time of year again.

Like throwing bread at ducks, corporations who for 11 months each year give two fecal voidings and a rat’s posterior about Rainbows on everything as if GLBT people lose all self-control and must purchase anything that has a rainbow on it during the month of June.

Yes, there are some companies that have been GLBT Community allies, so their June Pride promotions are understandable.

But what chaps my hide are the ones who will appear GLBT Friendly for one month of the year because they will accept our money gladly, while their support of us as people is sporadic at best.

Facebook is so filled with so many Rainbow related ads that cheerfully encourage our Pride, and some of the products are just insulting, I wait each day for the Rainbow covered King James Bible to come up on my feed.

If you are going to buy Rainbow infused items, get them from the people who have been there through the years, not those who only associate us with the sound of a cash register.

They’re Rainbows, not headlights, and we are Proud People not deer.

like his idol

Thomas Hodgson not only cannot face facts and reality, but he insultingly hopes the rest of us don’t either, as his traditional approach to defending himself is to play the victim.

DHS has cancelled his contract with ICE and he claims that closing his ICE palace,

“It’s nothing but a political hit job orchestrated by Sec. Mayorkas, the Biden administration and other anti-law enforcement groups to punish outspoken critics and advance their partisan agenda to score political points. This decision puts the people of Bristol County, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States of America at greater risk of being victimized by criminal illegal aliens.”

However, after a months’ long investigation it was determined that if there is any politicking going on it is the sheriff who refuses to do the job to which the people of Bristol County elected him.

The Attorney General Office’s findings were,” The Bristol County Sheriff Office’s calculated use of force included the use of a variety of less-lethal but dangerous weapons— including a flash bang grenade, pepper-ball launchers, pepper spray canisters, anti-riot shields, and canines—against detainees who had exhibited calm and nonviolent behavior for at least an hour before this operation. The BCSO deployed these weapons both indiscriminately upon entry and also specifically against particular detainees who were not combative, assaultive, or otherwise actively resisting staff. Informing our conclusion that the BCSO’s use of force was excessive.”

“The BCSO violated the civil rights of the detainees …… by using excessive force against the ICE B detainees and by acting with deliberate indifference to a substantial risk of serious injury or harm to the detainees and their health.”

Hodgson’s immediate response was to not only reject the results of an investigation he initially declared he supported saying that he will take any of the AG’s recommendations about as seriously as trash “halfway down the sewer pipe. That’s about how much value I put into the attorney general’s recommendations,” but stated clearly that he would defy the state’s highest lawyer and law enforcement official, whose report had also stated, “How dare she say she expects me to follow them.”

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas clearly explained the reason for closure, “we will not tolerate the mistreatment of individuals in civil immigration detention or substandard conditions of detention. We have an obligation to make lasting improvements to our civil immigration detention system. This marks an important first step to realizing that goal. DHS detention facilities and the treatment of individuals in those facilities will be held to our health and safety standards. Where we discover they fall short, we will continue to take action as we are doing today.”

But facts discovered during an investigation are too hard to deal with, so the Honorary Co-Chair of Trump’s Massachusetts re-election campaign, Sheriff Thomas Hodgson would rather just keep repeating, “This is nothing but a political hit job orchestrated by Sec. Mayorkas, the Biden administration and other anti-law enforcement groups to punish outspoken critics and advance their partisan agenda to score political points.”

Projection.

It is not politics. Clearly it is his, and not his staff’s shortcomings.

Hodgson is not taking this lying down. No one is going to tell him to do hos job and do it properly and Lawfully.

Because he allegedly received no written statements informing him of the contract termination, Hodgson said DHS violated its contract so he might file a suit.

He doesn’t seem to be disputing the substance of the report only something potentially related to process.

pious platitudes

Usually social media is filled with keyboard commandos, keyboard scientists, keyboard sexologists, key board Constitutional and Historical scholars , most of whom have no training and become an expert in whichever field is in need of any, but it seems Satudays are reserved for those who philosophize about life and remind us older people about our younger days lying on roof tops, the bottoms of row boats, the crests of hills over overlooking valleys staring up into the infinity of space discovering for the first time since the Big Bang things that older people already knew.
